Our Story

Two friends,
one trip done right.

RD Heartland Hauling was started by two close friends from Adams County, Indiana. Diego brings the horse experience. Rinor brings the driving experience. Diego’s on the horses, Rinor’s on the road, and we both show up the same way for every trip.

How we started

A partnership built on
complementary skills.

Most small horse haulers are one person with a trailer trying to do every part of the job alone. We thought there was a better way.

RD Heartland Hauling is two close friends from Adams County who decided to start something honest together. Diego brings years of hands-on experience with horses and a real reputation in the local equine community. Rinor brings box-truck driving experience and the steady, reliable hands you want behind the wheel when there’s a horse on the trailer. Diego handles the horses, Rinor handles the road, and you’re always talking to an owner.

When your horse is on our trailer, the person leading them on actually knows horses, and the person behind the wheel actually knows how to drive carefully under load. Neither of us is doing a job we’re uncomfortable with.

The name “RD” is straightforward — Rinor and Diego. The “Heartland” part reflects where we’re from: Berne, Adams County, northeast Indiana. Swiss immigrant roots, an active Amish farming community, and a culture that takes looking after animals seriously. That’s the standard we built on.

Who’s with your horse,

Equine Care & Handling

Diego

Diego is the horseman of the operation. With years of hands-on experience hauling and handling horses — and a real reputation in the local Adams County equine community — he’s the one loading, calming, and monitoring the horse on every trip.

He’s the face you’ll see in the barn at pickup, the person reading your horse’s body language during loading, and the one keeping an eye on them at every stop along the way.

Driving & Logistics

Rinor

Rinor handles a lot of the driving and the operations side. He has box-truck driving experience and is a steady, reliable driver who’s comfortable behind the wheel for long stretches — the kind you want there when there’s a horse on the trailer. He plans routes, tracks weather, manages the trip from quote to delivery, and keeps you in the loop the whole way.

He’s the person you’ll hear from when your horse is loaded, when you’re an hour out, and when they arrive. Clear, direct communication — no wondering where your horse is.

Our approach

What we believe
about hauling horses.

Slower is safer.

We don’t race the clock. We plan trips with realistic timelines, real rest stops, and routes chosen for the horse’s comfort — not the fastest GPS line.

Communication is care.

You shouldn’t have to wonder where your horse is. Updates at pickup, on the road, and as we approach the destination are part of the service, not an extra.

Small means accountable.

There’s no dispatcher, no random driver, no third party. You’re hiring the two people who will actually be on the trip. That’s the deal, and that’s the point.
